works well, wish it was battery powered, May 3, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Audio2000 AWM-6032UL UHF Dual Channel Wireless Microphone System with One Handheld & One Lapel (Lavalier) Mic It works well, and the range is just phenomenal (much farther than I will ever need it for), but it was my own stupid mistake to think this receiver was battery powered. I need it for an outdoor setup on a battery powered amp. Thankfully I was able to make a trip to Radio Shack and build a battery pack for it. Both mics have great clarity, and I love the squelch function. It will come in handy.
Update: We did not end up using the lapel mic because our videographer had his own lapel mic that he got the priest to wear. Well, I can say that at least the standard mic in this kit is very good in an outdoor situation because it didn't pick up any wind noise. When we got the wedding video back, there was lots of wind noise that turned up on the videographer's lapel mic.

We had been paying the hotel's AV department $35 per day for the use of a wireless mic, and I thought we could do better with our own equipment. With the exception of the failure of the included no-name brand batteries that were in the package, the mics and amplifiers worked flawlessly. We were in a large hotel meeting room, and there was never an out-of-range issue with either mic. The sound was completely adequate for the spoken word. We didn't have anyone singing, so I can't speak to how well that would have worked. Just make sure you have your own batteries--each mic takes a 9V battery.
One extra not mentioned in the product description: the set comes in a fitted plastic carrying case for transport and storage.
We're considering purchase of another set of two handheld mics and a receiver from the same company for next year, so as to have more mics... Read more

With the mic and receiver only 30 ft away, the lapel mic started to give off static and the handheld mic worked flawless. Problem was solved when the receiver was moved closer to the mics. Overall pleased with the purchase.
